Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites applications form eligible candidates for Managers Grade-I / Section Officers post.

Vacancy Details:

Total Posts: 13 Posts

Name of the Posts : Managers Grade-I / Section Officers

Age Limit as on 15-12-2016 : 35 years

Pay Scale: Rs. 15600- 39100/- + Rs. 5400/- Rs.

Education Qualification :   Degree of a recognized University or equivalent and Diploma / Degree in Business Management / Material Management from a recognized Institution.

Application Fee : Candidates have to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of the SBI or by using visa/master credit/debit card. No fee for SC/ST/PH/Women candidates.

Selection Process : Through Recruitment Test & Interview.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites applications form eligible candidates for the various posts through Combined Defence Services Examination (II) 2016.
Vacancy Details:

Total Posts: 413 Vacancies

Name of the Exam Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) (II) 2016

  1. Indian Military Academy, Dehradun : 150 Posts
  2. Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala : 45 Posts
  3. Air Force Academy, Hyderabad : 32 Posts
  4. Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai : 175 Posts
  5. Officers Training Academy, Chennai—20th SSC Women (Non-Technical) : 11 Posts

Age Limit :

  • For IMA & Indian Naval Academy : Unmarried male candidates born betwen 2 nd July, 1993 to 1 st July, 1998 only are eligible.
  • For Air Force Academy : Between 20 to 24 years as on 1st July 2017 i.e. born not earlier than 02nd July, 1993 and not later than 01st July, 1997
  • For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Course for men/Women -Non-Technical Course) : Male/Women candidates Between 2 nd July, 1992 to 1 st July, 1998 only are eligible.

Educational Qualification :  

  • For For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy : Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • For Indian Naval Academy : Degree in Engineering from a recognised University/Institution.
  • For Air Force Academy : Degree of a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Selection Process : Through  Recruitment Test & SSB Interview.

Application Fee :

  • Candidates have to pay Rs. 200/- either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of the SBI or by using visa/master credit/debit card.
  • There is no fee for SC/ST candidates/Sons of JCOs/NCOs/ORs specified

History of Formation 

The First Public Service Commission was established on 1926 in India; however it had only limited rights and advisory functions.  In the year 1935 “Federal Public Service Commission under the Government of India Act 1935 the first provision was made. The provision was made at provincial level.  The Constituent Assembly, after the freedom of India, felt need for giving a secure and autonomous status to Public Service Commissions to both level as state and provincial level and their aim was to ensure unbiased recruitment and protection of service interest. Finally in 1950, according to new constitution of India it emerged as separate entity and named ‘Union Public Service Commission’the headquarter of commission is located in New Delhi

Constitutional Provision:

The constitution of India, Article from 315 to 323 provides info about public service commission and Union Public service commission. The commission has a chairman and ten members. The rules and regulation are of chairman and members are governed by the Union Public Service Commission (Members) Regulations, 1969.

The Union Public Service Commission has commitment to abide with following responsibilities;

  1. Recruitment of the candidates through conducting competitive exams.
  2. Recruitment to services and designations under the Central Government by Selection through Interviews and exams
  3. Work as advisory committee on the suitability of Designations for appointment and promotion
  4. To advise the government on all the issues related to method of recruitment to various services and posts.
  5. Taking care of miscellaneous matters related to grant of extra ordinary pensions, reimbursement of legal expenses etc.

           

Age limit and attempt for UPSC

A candidate must be minimum 21 years old and must not have attained the age of 30 yearson the year of examination. Prescribed age limits may vary with respect to the caste reservation system For OBC category maximum age limit is 35, and for SC/ST it is 37 years.

Notification issued by UPSC for the civil service examination on 2016 that “candidate appearing for the examination, who is eligible, shall be permitted six attempts (two more than earlier four).
