Five ways to create effective feedback mechanism

An effective feedback system in any organisation is the one that enables two-way free communication. There have been many instances in the past where organisations have been able to find solutions using this feedback mechanism. ET offers some tips to build an effective feedback mechanism. 

1. Go Anonymous 
"Use an anonymous feedback platform where employees can anonymously ask questions," says Kevin Freitas, HR director at InMobi. This creates a comfort level among employees to be able to communicate freely. 

2. Foster Trust 
"It is essential that employees believe that their feedback will reach the expected destination and create impact," says Sriram Vaidhyanathan, chief HRO, BankBazaar. It is trust and belief among among employees that would enable a smooth functioning of the feedback mechanism. 

3.Acknowledge 
"It makes a lot of difference when an employee understands that her contributions are actually being heard and acknowledged, and not being lost in the HR black box," says Vaidhyanathan. 

4. Two-Way System 
A communication system in an organisation must always encourage dialogues across the organisation. "A combination of top-down pulse surveys and bottom-up employee generated conversations works well," says Freitas. 

5. Respond 
"Act on the gathered feedback and highlight the impact employees make, so that employees are enthused and believe they can positively influence in the organisation's success," says Vaidhyanathan.
