Amazon top recruiter at TISS Mumbai placements, average salary Rs 18.2 lakh

Amazon has emerged the top recruiter during final placements at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai), offering the highest package of Rs 28.5 lakh. The median salary for the 2015-17 batch is Rs 18 lakh, the same as last year. Average salary has gone up marginally to Rs 18.2 lakh, compared to Rs 17.4 lakh last year.

Around 65 students from the two-year postgraduate programme in human resource management and labour relations participated in the placements where 44 companies – 25%......

Amazon India sets up 7 new warehouses, to create 1,200 jobs

E-commerce giant Amazon said on Wednesday it has set up seven new warehouses (Fulfilment Centres or FCs) to cater exclusively to its large appliances and furniture category, a move that will create 1,200 new jobs.

The company, which has committed an investment of $5 billion in the Indian market, will also set up 33 delivery stations to meet the demand it is witnessing in the said category. Amazon.in has 27 such warehouses across the country.
